Editorial Policy
Sourcing standards
- Primary sources only for volatile numbers. Meralco rates come from Meralco's own monthly advisories; solar pricing from published installer price lists; policy details from ERC rules and official program pages. We do not source numbers from other blogs.
- Every number is dated. Each figure in the dataset carries the month we last verified it. If a page shows a rate, it shows when that rate was true.
- Ranges over false precision. Where the market has a spread (installation quotes, export credits), we publish the spread and say what moves you within it.
Review before publish
Every article and calculator is reviewed by a human editor before it goes live: numbers re-derived from the dataset, formulas checked by hand against worked examples, and claims traced to their listed sources. Calculator outputs are cross-checked against the tables published in our guides — if they ever disagree, that's a bug and we want to hear about it.
Corrections
When a reader or a new advisory shows a number is stale or wrong, we update the dataset and every affected page, and stamp the page's "updated" date. Material corrections (anything that changes a conclusion, not just a centavo) are noted on the methodology page's update log.
Independence
- No sponsored content, no paid rankings, no lead selling.
- Advertising is clearly marked and never influences editorial content or calculator math.
- We name no "best installer" — we give you the math to judge any installer's quote.
What our tools do with your data
Nothing. Calculators run entirely in your browser; bills and inputs are never transmitted. Details in the privacy policy.
