About TipidKuryente
TipidKuryente ("save on electricity") exists because the practical questions Filipino households actually ask — magkano ang aircon per night? how many panels for a ₱5,000 bill? sulit na ba ang solar? — are usually answered online with stale rates, US assumptions, or a sales pitch.
Who runs this
TipidKuryente is independently owned and operated from the Philippines. We are not a solar installer, we don't sell leads, and no installer, retailer, or utility pays for placement or influences a number on this site. We publish under the TipidKuryente Editorial byline as a matter of policy; what we ask you to trust is not a face but a paper trail — every volatile figure on this site carries a verification date and a public primary source you can check yourself.
How the numbers work
All rates and prices live in a versioned public dataset updated when Meralco publishes its monthly advisory (usually the 11th–13th). Calculators run entirely in your browser on those numbers; our editorial policy covers how pages are written, reviewed, and corrected.
How the site is funded
Through clearly-marked display advertising only. Ads never look like calculator controls or results, and ad revenue has no connection to what any number says.
